Privacy Policy

xAlarm has no accounts, no sign-in and no advertising. You are not asked for your name, your email address or your phone number, and there is nothing in the app that identifies you.

What stays on your phone

Your alarms and their times, the topics you chose, the lessons and questions waiting for you, everything you have answered, and your streak history are stored on your device only. They are never uploaded. Answers are graded on the device, so nothing you type is transmitted anywhere.

What is sent when a lesson is written

To write new lessons, the app sends this server:

• the name of the topic you chose, its level, and the language lessons should be written in;
• a short sample of terms you have already answered correctly, so the next lesson does not repeat them;
• a random identifier created when you install the app, used only to give each installation its own daily limit.

That request is forwarded to OpenAI, which writes the lesson text and returns it. No alarms, no times, no answers you typed and no streak history are included. The random identifier is stored only as a one-way hash.

What this server records

For each request: the time, a hashed installation identifier, a hashed network address, whether it succeeded, how long it took, and how many words the lesson used. Prompts and lesson text are never written to the log. These records are kept for up to 30 days and are used to spot abuse and to keep costs under control.

Subscriptions

Payment is handled entirely by Apple; this app never sees your payment details. Subscription status is managed through RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous identifier and the purchase itself so that a subscription can be recognised again after a reinstall. It is not linked to your identity.

How the app is measured

xAlarm uses Google Firebase Analytics to see which parts of the app are used and where they go wrong. It receives the name of an action — an alarm set, a challenge passed, a sleep sound started — along with counts, durations, the topic and difficulty involved, and the hour of day an alarm rang.

It never receives anything you type, the text of a lesson or a question, the label on an alarm, or the date of any alarm or streak day. Grading happens on your phone, and your answers stay there.

Firebase identifies your installation by a random app instance identifier. It is not your name, not your Apple ID, and not the advertising identifier, which this app cannot read at all. You can switch analytics off for this app in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security, by turning off Analytics & Improvements sharing.

What is not done

• No tracking across apps or websites, and no advertising identifier is used.
• No behavioural profiling, and no data sold or shared for marketing.
• No access to contacts, photos, location, microphone or health data — the app never asks.

Others involved

• OpenAI — writes the lesson text from the request described above.
• RevenueCat — subscription status.
• Google (Firebase Analytics) — the usage measurements described above.
• Apple — payments, and the alarm scheduling built into iOS.
• Cloudflare — carries traffic to this server.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device, including your streak history — there is no copy anywhere else to restore it from. To have the server's request records for your installation removed sooner than 30 days, write to [email protected].

Children

xAlarm is not directed at children under 13 and collects nothing that would identify a child. Lessons are written by a language model; while the app asks for material suitable for the topic chosen, generated text is not reviewed by a person before you see it.
